The anti-dumping duty on garlic, fresh or chilled and dried garlic, in the form of bulbs or cloves originating in or imported from China, is increased from 607c/kg to 1037c/kg.

 

The effect of these amendments are that a provision for anti-dumping duty on certain glass is deleted/created.

OVERWEIGHT SURCHARGE EX CANADA

 

In a circular to all shippers dated 24 March 2010, DAL advise that as of the 1st April 2010 the implementation of an overweight surcharge for 20’ dry containers out of Canada exceeding a maximum payload of 25000 kgs will apply at USD 200/20’.

 

UNCLEARED CARGO IN THAILAND PROBLEM

 

In a circular to all shippers CFR Freight draw attention to a Thai Airways announcement effective for arriving cargo from 01 April 2010.  According to Thai cargo regulations: cargo imported into Thailand Airports & still not customs processed may be stored in Thai Cargo Warehouse within 75 days after flight arrival.  Thereafter, the uncleared cargo will be confiscated by Thai Customs for auction or destruction.  All expenses incurred will be for shipper account.

 

SA ORANJE OMITS CAPE TOWN & PORT ELIZABETH

 

In a circular to all shippers dated 24 March 2010, advise has been received that due to berthing delays at SA Ports, the Safmarine Oranje will omit Cape Town & Port Elizabeth Southbound.  For more information please refer to our ships arrival schedule.

 

FINLAND STRIKE SURCHARGE

 

In a circular to all shippers dated 23 March 2010, DAL advise that their feeder service provider is forced to implement a strike surcharge of EUR65/teu for all shipments destined to Finland. The surcharge is valid with immediate effect & until further notice.

 

MACS DECREASE EUROPE BUNKER SURCHARGE

 

In a circular dated 11 March 2010, MACS Line advise that the following Bunker Adjustment Surcharge will apply effective as from 01 April 2010 to.

 

USD 405 / teu                          For G.P OT containers and flatracks
